Towel Pull-Up
Pull · back · advanced
Start
FinishHow to do it
Drape two towels over the bar shoulder-width apart, grip one in each hand, and pull until your hands reach chest height while keeping the towels from swinging.
Muscles worked
Primary: back · Also works: forearms, biceps
Equipment
Pull-up bar
Common mistakes
- Gripping so low on the towels that the range becomes a half rep
- Letting the towels drift apart mid-set instead of pulling them toward each other
- Training it to failure every session — the elbow tendons take much longer to recover than the lats
Variations
- Single-towel pull-up with both hands stacked
- Towel hang for time as a grip finisher
Can't do this one? Swap it for
Take care: ABROFIT automatically removes this movement for anyone who has flagged a elbow problem. If that's you, use one of the swaps above and speak to a physio before loading it.
