Pull · back · intermediate
Start
FinishHow to do it
Using parallel handles with palms facing each other, pull until your chest reaches handle height while keeping the elbows driving straight down past the ribs.
Muscles worked
Primary: back · Also works: biceps, forearms
Equipment
Pull-up bar, Full gym
Common mistakes
- Flaring the elbows out, which loses the shoulder-friendly advantage of the neutral grip
- Leaning far back so it turns into a row instead of a vertical pull
- Treating it as easier and rushing the reps rather than controlling the descent
Variations
- Towel-over-the-bar neutral pull-up
- Weighted neutral-grip pull-up with a dip belt
