Seated Band Row
Pull · back · beginner
Start
FinishHow to do it
Sit on the floor with legs straight, loop a band around both feet, sit tall with the chest up and row both handles to your lower ribs, pausing when the elbows pass behind the torso.
Muscles worked
Primary: back · Also works: biceps, rear delts
Equipment
Resistance bands
Common mistakes
- Rocking the torso back and forth to move the band instead of keeping the trunk still
- Letting the upper back round on the return so the shoulders slump forward
- Sitting on a slack band — shorten the loop until there is tension in the start position
Variations
- Neutral-grip seated band row with the palms facing each other
- Single-arm seated band row alternating sides
