Renegade Row
Pull · back · advanced
Start
FinishHow to do it
Set up in a push-up plank gripping two hexagonal dumbbells with feet wide, then row one dumbbell to your hip while keeping the hips completely level, and alternate sides.
Muscles worked
Primary: back · Also works: core, biceps
Equipment
Dumbbells
Common mistakes
- Letting the hips rotate up toward the ceiling as the dumbbell comes off the floor
- Using round dumbbells that roll, which turns a stable base into a wobble
- Placing the feet together, which makes the anti-rotation demand far harder than it needs to be
Variations
- Renegade row from the knees
- Renegade row with a push-up between each pair of rows
