Kettlebell Deadlift
Hinge · glutes · beginner
Start
FinishHow to do it
Set the kettlebell between the arches of the feet, hinge the hips back and grip the handle with a flat back, then stand by pushing the floor away and squeezing the glutes at the top.
Muscles worked
Primary: glutes · Also works: hamstrings, lower back, grip
Equipment
Kettlebells
Common mistakes
- Squatting down to the bell instead of hinging, which puts the shins in the way of the handle
- Jerking the bell off the floor before taking the slack out of the arms and lats
- Leaning back at the top rather than standing tall with the ribs over the hips
Variations
- Bell raised on blocks to shorten the range
- Two kettlebells outside the feet
