Start
FinishHow to do it
Anchor a band overhead, hinge slightly forward with a soft elbow bend locked in place, and sweep your straight arms from in front of your face down to your thighs using only the shoulder joint.
Muscles worked
Primary: back · Also works: core, rear delts
Equipment
Resistance bands
Common mistakes
- Bending and straightening the elbows, which turns the set into a triceps pushdown
- Standing too upright so the band pulls you forward instead of loading the lats
- Rushing past the bottom instead of pausing where the lats are shortest
Variations
- Single-arm straight-arm pulldown with a slight cross-body finish
- Half-kneeling straight-arm pulldown to remove leg drive
