Band Lat Pulldown
Pull · back · beginner
Start
FinishHow to do it
Anchor a band above head height, kneel or sit far enough back that the band is already tight with arms extended, then pull your hands down to collarbone level by driving the elbows toward the floor.
Muscles worked
Primary: back · Also works: biceps
Equipment
Resistance bands
Common mistakes
- Kneeling directly under the anchor, which removes tension at the bottom of the pull
- Leaning the torso back further and further to fake range once the band gets stiff
- Letting the arms snap back up instead of resisting the band's return
Variations
- Single-arm band pulldown for even side-to-side work
- Wide-grip band pulldown holding the band further apart
