Strap the outside ankle to a low pulley and stand side-on holding the frame, then lift that leg straight out to the side as far as the hip allows and lower it slowly across the body.

Common mistakes
- Leaning the torso hard away from the cable to lift the leg higher
- Letting the working leg rotate so the toe points up instead of staying forward
- Using so much weight that the standing leg has to hop to stay balanced
