Hinge · glutes · beginner
Start
FinishHow to do it
Loop a band just above the knees, lie on your back with the heels close to the backside, then drive the hips up while pushing the knees out against the band and squeeze at the top.
Muscles worked
Primary: glutes · Also works: hamstrings, abductors
Equipment
Resistance bands
Common mistakes
- Letting the knees cave in against the band, which is exactly what it is there to prevent
- Pushing the knees so far apart that the feet roll onto their outer edges
- Resting the hips on the floor between reps instead of keeping constant tension
Variations
- Add a long band across the hips for direct resistance
- Two-second squeeze at the top
