Stand side-on to a low pulley with a single handle, keep the upper arm slightly behind the torso, and curl toward the shoulder with the elbow fixed in place.

- Letting the torso lean away from the machine to counterbalance heavy weight
- Allowing the working elbow to swing forward as the handle rises
