Start
FinishHow to do it
Rack the kettlebell with the bell resting on the back of your forearm and the handle in the crease of your palm, then press overhead and let the wrist rotate so the bell settles behind the arm at lockout.
Muscles worked
Primary: shoulders · Also works: triceps, core
Equipment
Kettlebells
Common mistakes
- Letting the wrist bend back under the bell instead of keeping a straight forearm-to-knuckle line
- Pressing with the bell in front of the forearm, which forces the wrist into extension
- Finishing with the arm in front of the head rather than stacked over the ear
Variations
- Half-kneeling kettlebell press
- Double kettlebell press
