How to do it

Stand a few inches from a wall or doorframe, place the back of your hand against it with the arm out to the side at shoulder height, and press outward into the wall for 20 to 30 seconds.

  • Pressing with the forearm instead of the back of the hand, which recruits the wrong muscles
  • Letting the shoulder shrug up toward the ear during the hold

  • Five-second pulses on and off the wall
