EZ-Bar Preacher Curl
Pull · biceps · intermediate
Start
FinishHow to do it
Set the preacher pad so the top edge sits in your armpits, rest both upper arms flat on it, and curl the EZ bar up then lower to a straight but not locked-out arm.
Muscles worked
Primary: biceps · Also works: forearms
Equipment
Barbell, Full gym
Common mistakes
- Lifting the elbows off the pad to escape the hardest stretched position
- Letting the bar drop into a hard lockout at the bottom, which loads the biceps tendon at its most vulnerable angle
- Standing up out of the seat to help the bar past the sticking point
Variations
- Single-arm dumbbell preacher curl
- Preacher curl with a five-second lowering phase
