Stand side-on to a low pulley and take the handle in the outside hand so the cable runs behind your back, then raise the arm out to shoulder height against the line of the cable.

- Standing too close to the stack, which kills the tension at the bottom of the raise
- Letting the cable drift in front of the hips instead of keeping it behind the body
- Raising above shoulder level and letting the trap take over
