Band Good Morning
Hinge · hamstrings · beginner
Start
FinishHow to do it
Stand on a band and loop the other end behind your neck across the upper traps, then hinge the hips back until the torso is near parallel and stand back up against the band.
Muscles worked
Primary: hamstrings · Also works: glutes, lower back
Equipment
Resistance bands
Common mistakes
- Letting the band roll up onto the neck instead of sitting on the muscle of the upper back
- Rounding the spine to get lower rather than stopping at the end of the hamstring stretch
- Bending the knees deeply so the load transfers to the quads
Variations
- Seated on a bench for a hips-out-of-it version
- Single-leg stance for more hamstring load per side
