On a bench declined about 15-30 degrees, lower the dumbbells to the lower chest with elbows tucked near 45 degrees, then press up and slightly toward the feet.

Common mistakes
- Setting the decline steep enough to make you dizzy and unstable
- Pressing the dumbbells back over the face rather than over the lower chest
- Getting into position without help, which is where most decline injuries happen
