Band Leg Curl
Hinge · hamstrings · beginner
Start
FinishHow to do it
Anchor a band low in front of you, lie face down and hook it around one ankle, then curl the heel toward the backside against the band and lower slowly.
Muscles worked
Primary: hamstrings · Also works: calves
Equipment
Resistance bands
Common mistakes
- Letting the hips lift off the floor to help the heel travel further
- Letting the band snap the leg straight instead of resisting on the way back down
- Anchoring the band too high so the resistance pulls the leg up rather than straight out
Variations
- Both legs together with the band over both ankles
- Standing single-leg curl with the band anchored behind you
